Booking Policies

Car Rental Reservations:

  • Reservations are held with a MasterCard or Visa.  The credit card will be authorized for the estimated amount upon pick-up.  Since the amount can change due to extensions, additional mileage, fees, or early returns, cards will be charged when the vehicle is returned.

  • Renters must be 30 years of age. Due to the nature of the road this is non-negotiable.

  • Renters must posses a valid drivers license (United States license, or proof of eligibility to drive in the United States on foreign licenses)

  • Renters must also provide their own insurance.  If your Insurance policy does not cover rental cars you can buy travel insurance that covers rentals. More information can be found below.

Reservations for Additional Services:

Along the Dalton Highway there are services available.  Hotel rooms and/or tours are paid for upon the time of reservation.

Cancellations:

Cancellations that are received up to 7 days prior to reserved date are 100% refundable less a $25 per room cancellation if any hotel rooms have been booked.  Cancellations and alterations received within 7 days to the reserved date or return date are subject to a charge equal to one day of rental.

Insurance:

For those without their own insurance to cover the rental vehicle or for those not covered by their current insurance, a Collision Damage Waiver can be purchased from an outside agency. Most (if not all) of these agencies require that insurance be purchased at least 24 hours in advance from when the insurance is needed, so please be sure to take the time to work out insurance details before picking up your rental vehicle.

Renters are required to have their own insurance to cover any damage to the vehicle.
